Becoming an Ordinance Survey Champion 2024

Updated: May 8

I'm so excited to be joining the OS Champions for 2024! Along with other like-minded people, I will join the 2024 group of approximately 100 OS Champions helping to showcase the best of Britain’s outdoors with inspiring stories and expert advice to help people get outside.

It’s going to be a lot of fun and I can't wait to be a part of the programme. I love the outdoors and getting other people outside, as you all know. I live for getting outside and know a thing or two about maps and navigation as well. I am embedded in the outdoor community and want to help more people get outside more often. There are not many in the East of England, compared to other areas, so I'm proud to be representing Suffolk!

I am passionate about the outdoors - follow my social media accounts to see my regular posts about my outdoors pursuits and how I use OS mapping products. I will be sharing routes, images and information. You can expect to see my involvement with events such as National #GetOutside Day, and National Map Reading Week.

I can't wait to become a volunteer to review and test outdoors gear, tech, and books. Also be a part of the innovation for the app OS Maps through user testing and feedback. It's also amazing to meet a network of like-minded people. I know some of the other OS Champs already, through the Adventure Queens and Red Paddle Co. I am looking forward to many exciting opportunities to work with people across the outdoors industry.

Ordnance Survey

Their mission is to help more people get outside more often.  They promote the spirit of adventure and develop products and services that make the outdoors more enjoyable, more accessible and safer. With the extraordinary year we've all had, now more than ever we're seeing strong demand for our products as people look to enjoy the outdoors, explore their local area and plan ahead for trips further afield.

Their ambition is to create new ways to bring the outdoors to life for everyone so that we can all enjoy the physical and mental health benefits of being outside. They help people create lasting memories, live longer, stay younger and enjoy life more.

As the national mapping agency of Great Britain they are renowned for their paper maps as well as the award-winning OS Maps app, loved by walkers, runners, cylists, horse riders, climbers and everyone that enjoys discovering the Great British outdoors and getting off of the beaten track. On top of that they have a wide range of outdoor gear, GPS devices, guide books, personalised maps, themed maps and more.
